

On Aboriginal policy issues, the Chamber has a long and proud history and proven track record. In 1980 the Chamber created the first standing Aboriginal focused committee in Canada.
The Chamber launched the Aboriginal Workforce Initiative in response to Chamber members identifying labour shortages as a top priority.
The Aboriginal Workforce Initiative seeks to improve the economic and labour market outcomes of Aboriginal people and entrepreneurs both within, and transitioning to, the Calgary region. It is comprised of 3 phases:

Aboriginal Awareness Training is part of Phase 3 - Program Delivery of the Chamber's Aboriginal Workforce Initiative.
It is designed to improve understanding and communication with Aboriginal individuals and communities. It can also play a critical role in organizational success by fostering workplace diversity, enhancing your reputation for corporate social responsibility, and enable you to tap into new economic opportunities.
