William Flaig - Director

With 38 plus years of experience in general contracting, Bill Flaig has held varying positions of responsibility while gaining the respect of his co-workers and industry peers alike.

Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Bill—after graduating from the University of Regina, Faculty of Education—spent only a couple of years in the teaching profession before his passion for the construction industry led him back to what he truly enjoys.

Guided by his father’s 37-year career as a construction superintendent, together with being employed as a construction labourer during his high school and post secondary school years, Bill’s hands-on experience established a solid foundation that has led to his overall experience and success within the industry to date.

Beginning his construction career as an estimator, Bill advanced steadily by taking on a number of different roles and increasing responsibilities ranging from Chief Estimator; Project Manager; Branch Manager; Divisional Vice-President; through to Operational President and Executive Vice-President with Graham. Bill was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Graham Group Ltd. effective January 1, 2009.

Bill’s experience, combined with his commitment to uncompromising business ethics, integrity and a penchant to achieve client satisfaction, are major contributing factors to both his personal success as well as that of Graham. In addition to his operational roles for Graham, Bill also holds the position of Trustee and Audit Committee Member within the Graham Income Trust.

Bill holds Gold Seal Certification in both Estimating and Project Management. He has served in a variety of roles with many industry associations, including President of the Regina, Saskatoon and Saskatchewan General Contractors Associations; President of the Saskatoon Construction Association; Director of the Saskatchewan Construction Association and Director of the Canadian Construction Association, a position he held for a number of years. Participation in industry organizations at the provincial and national level allows Bill to continue improving as an individual as well as share in best practices to improve Graham, all while giving back to the industry.

Bill acknowledges that his career and success are the product of having the benefit of working with many talented individuals who have helped support him over the years, not the least of whom are his wife Heather, and daughters Jodi, Lindsay, and Chelsea.
