Paul is native Calgary and has been actively involved in the affairs of civic, community, and commerce for the past 25 years. He has been an active member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce for 25 years.

His principle interest lies in international trade and logistics. He has chaired the Transportation & Logistics Committee for the past three years and awarded "The Chair of the Year 2006".

Paul has been married for 24 years and has 2 daughters.
