Making your business’ voice heard in the 2017 Municipal Election

Posted by: Kaitlyn Mason on July 26, 2017

This fall, Calgarians will have the opportunity to elect a mayor, councilors, and school board trustees in the 2017 Municipal Election. The advance polls are open October 4 – 11, 2017, and election day is Monday, October 16, 2017.

In previous municipal elections voter apathy has been high, and business issues underrepresented. Given the economic realities our city has faced over the past few years, we believe that it is vital this election ensure business issues are top of mind for all candidates and voters.

That's why for the 2017 Municipal Election, your Calgary Chamber will be an active voice promoting key business issues to City Council candidates, and voters.

The driving force behind our advocacy is our unwavering goal and commitment to you: to make business in Calgary more successful.

What happens next

During the months leading up to the election, we will be engaging with declared candidates for Mayor and City Council, to ensure that each candidate endorses business priorities and, if elected, will be a strong ally for Calgary businesses.

We will continue to engage with new candidates as they declare, right up until election day.
