Special announcement from the Calgary Chamber Board Chair

Posted by: Alycia Lowdon on October 31, 2017

Calgary Chamber Members,

All things change. In fact, it feels like the only constant these days—that things will always be changing. Change too, has come to the Calgary Chamber.

Late last week, our President and CEO, Adam Legge, provided the Board of Directors with his resignation, and will be moving on from the Calgary Chamber as of December 31, 2017.

He has accepted a role with the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business at the Haskayne School of Business, and will also be opening an advisory practice assisting leaders and organizations with transformation, strategy and thriving through complex times.

Adam has been a stalwart leader for the Calgary Chamber and for businesses across Calgary over the past seven years. During his tenure, his leadership has led to a transformation of the organization into one that is modern and dynamic.  The Board, staff, and members are forever indebted to Adam for his service and leadership to the Calgary Chamber during this period.

Adam took an organization in need of modernization and made significant transformations in brand, assets, culture, team, and member experiences. He has been a champion of the business community, advocating on their behalf, and in working to make Calgary the best city to start and run a business.

His leadership during the floods helped our community recover better and faster than any similarly affected city. Adam’s leadership nationally and internationally have resulted in bringing best practices to the Calgary Chamber, and being globally-recognized as one of the most innovative and dynamic chambers in the world.

The team he has assembled is first rate, delivering exceptional member service, innovating new programs and services, and thriving off a fast-paced and engaged culture. This has ensured the Chamber can live up to its unwavering purpose of helping make its members more successful.

Adam will remain in the role of CEO until the end of the year. The Board of the Calgary Chamber will be commencing an executive search to find his successor, and the team is looking forward to an exciting next chapter of Chamber leadership. We are excited for the future.

I hope you will join me in thanking Adam for his leadership this past seven years, and in wishing him success in his next role.
