Join us for a dynamic and open discussion on how we can work together, across sectors, to advance food security across Canada.

Today, almost 800 million people around the world, are food insecure. In Canada, the breadbasket of the world, over 4 million Canadians, (1 in 6 children), face food insecurity. The impact on healthcare, education, and society is daunting.

The Maple Leaf Centre for Action on Food Security is working to shine a national spotlight on this issue and advance innovation, policy solutions and broader collaboration. Lynda Kuhn, Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs and Purpose Champion for Maple Leaf Foods, and the Chair of the Maple Leaf Centre for Action on Food Security, will discuss this largely hidden national issue and the Centre's work.

Join us for a timely discussion on advancing food security in Canada including the role business can play.

About the Agribusiness event series

Agribusiness is an essential and growing sector and an important contributor to the Canadian economy. Agricultural products are Alberta’s second largest export behind energy. As many Calgary-based companies have downstream involvement in the agribusiness sector, the agribusiness series takes a look at understanding the impact, scope and future of the industry, as well as to generate discussion around key trends in the industry. The series is also meant to recognize the economic impact of agriculture as a commercial enterprise, and look at the opportunities and challenges that come with it.

Sponsorship opportunities are available.
