The future of the Flames: Business and hockey

The future of the Flames: Business and hockey

Monday, September 25, 2017 - 11:30am to 1:30pm
TELUS Convention Centre
120 9 Ave SE, Calgary AB

This event is part of the Business of Sports series.

For many, hockey is about Saturday nights cheering on the home team, while for others it's the 5:00 am wake-up call for practice. But for some, it’s business.

Having a professional sports team in Calgary increases businesses ability to attract skilled talent, contributes nearly $3 million to local charities, and approximately $300 million to the economy.

The Calgary Flames have been a local icon since they arrived in 1980, and have contributed significantly to both the economy and culture in our city. Throughout the years they've seen a Stanley Cup Trophy, Hall of Fame players, and a strong fan base and city that stands by them throughout it all.

Join us this fall for a dynamic discussion with Calgary Flames President and CEO, Ken King, and moderated by Eric Francis, on the future of the Flames, the many challenges faced both in terms of business and hockey, and how Calgary will be impacted on the world stage.
