Guy Huntingford - Director

Guy Huntingford was appointed Publisher of the Calgary Herald effective August 30, 2010. The Calgary Herald is part of Postmedia Network Inc. Mr. Huntingford brings a wealth of knowledge to the rapidly-changing newspaper and multi-media industry.

Before joining the Calgary Herald, Mr. Huntingford was with Winsport Canada as President and CEO, a position he held since December of 2007.

For the majority of 2007, Mr. Huntingford consulted for Energy Alberta, a nuclear power venture that was sold to Ontario based Bruce Power.

Prior to this, Mr. Huntingford spent 26 years with SunMedia, where he started his career as a programmer analyst. He subsequently held positions as Director of Application Development, Corporate Director of Information Technology, V.P of Operations for the Toronto Sun, Executive Assistant to the CEO, and was promoted to Publisher and CEO of the Calgary Sun in 1999. He held this position until 2002 when he was promoted to Senior Group Publisher for Southern Alberta, a position he held until he resigned.

Mr. Huntingford was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada in 1971. He went to high school in Toronto and attended the University of Toronto. He is 54 years old and is married to Riina. They have one son, Matthew who is 27 and lives in Calgary.
