Jason Hatcher has successfully run several small businesses and is a long-time member and volunteer with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. He is Chair of the Chamber’s Public & Government Affairs Committee and previously served on the Municipal Directions Committee.
Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Jason was educated in both English and French and is a Managing Principal of Navigator Ltd., leading the company’s Western Canadian operations from Calgary. Before joining Navigator, Jason co-founded and was president of a successful public relations firm in Calgary.
As one of Canada’s leading professionals in the field of strategic communications, Jason works with organizations to enhance their public reputations and to develop communications, stakeholder consultation and government advocacy strategies. For over ten years, he worked at the provincial and federal levels of government advising Premiers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador as well as Canadian Cabinet Ministers and political leaders and parties across the country on campaign and election strategy, media relations and public policy.
As a media commentator on public policy, government and politics, Jason has appeared regularly on national and regional public affairs programming.
Jason is passionate about his volunteer work and is on the Board of the Calgary United Way. He is currently a member of the United Way’s Strategic Planning Committee.
In November 2012, Jason was named one of “Calgary’s Top 40 under 40” in recognition of his professional accomplishments and service to the community.
Jason and his wife have two children and are actively involved with children’s activities and charities. Jason enjoys the outdoors and is an avid skier and hiker and has passed this passion on to his children.
