Summer in Calgary is a great time to get outside and explore your local neighbourhoods while discovering new local businesses to support. After the challenges of the past year the team at Helcim knows that local businesses deserve our support and recognition now more than ever.

With the province moving forward with lifting restrictions and a sense of normalcy returning to our everyday lives, the Helcim team wanted to welcome back small businesses and show appreciation for the hard work that goes into running a business.

On July 14th, Helcim Street Teams visited local businesses in ten different Calgary communities to drop off Welcome Back Bundles from the company’s local merchants to help celebrate Calgary's reopening. The bundles include items from other local businesses including Wild Tea Kombucha, Screaming Toller Brewing Company, Kinjo Sushi and Grill, CAKEify, and Horse Creek Heritage Candy and Gifts.

“We are extremely thrilled to have the support of the businesses we partner with,” says Helcim COO Rob Park. “Payments is such a great industry to work in because we get to work closely with so many small businesses. It has been great to have merchants who are always so excited to get involved and give back to their communities.”

Ryan Kemp at Screaming Toller explains that, “We love partnering with Helcim! Their customer service and processing abilities are second to none. As a small business we get paid faster and at lower processing fees with Helcim. The peace of mind Helcim offers a small business like ours with low processing fees and great customer service makes us highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great merchant processor.”

Businesses across Calgary’s inner city communities including Inglewood, Kensington, Marda Loop, Victoria Park, Brideland and Eau Claire were surprised with a visit from the Helcim Team throughout the day.

“Helcim started in Calgary and we want to celebrate local Calgary businesses who are a part of our community,” explains Helcim CEO Nic Beique. “Over the past 18 months we’ve seen their resilience and this is just one way we can recognize what they’ve been through while celebrating their bright future.”
