Meet Duncan Webster, the Chamber’s new Senior Policy Analyst

Posted by: Kaitlyn Mason on July 26, 2017

The Calgary Chamber is excited to announce the addition of Duncan Webster to the Department of Policy and Government Relations as the new Senior Policy Analyst. Duncan will be working with the rest of the Chamber team to ensure that Calgary is the best place to start and grow a business.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Duncan worked for a Federal Member of Parliament as a Constituency Manager in Calgary, identifying and addressing the issues that are currently impacting Calgarians.

In Duncan’s role at the provincial level, he worked alongside political decision makers and senior members of the public service in the departments of Municipal Affairs, Energy, and Environment. Throughout his time in provincial politics, Duncan worked on high priority policy files including Alberta’s climate change strategy, grant funding for municipalities (including the Municipal Sustainability Initiative, the Alberta Community Partnership, and the Green Transit Incentives Program), and the alternative and renewable energy framework.

After growing up in Calgary, Duncan moved to Edmonton to complete his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta, where he majored in Political Science. During his time at the University of Alberta, Duncan also played defensive back for their varsity football team.

Outside of work, Duncan tries to stay physically active by working out and playing “not-so-recreational” flag football.
