Calgary Chamber transforms ninth-annual Small Business Awards into a celebration of resiliency

CALGARY, AB – Today the Calgary Chamber launched Calgary’s Resilient Business Awards and will be accepting applications until July 31, 2020. This year, the Chamber’s annual celebration of small business is pivoting to recognize the entrepreneurial spirit of our business community, the impact COVID-19 has had on our city, and how business responded with grit and determination.

There will be six award categories:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally disrupted our way of life and Calgary businesses have risen to this historic challenge,” says Sandip Lalli, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber. “Their contributions are crucial. Their efforts will be recognized. And our economic recovery will depend on their ability to reimagine themselves, as only entrepreneurs can.”

Calgary businesses adapted their business models, redefined their customers and supply chains, and directly contributed to the fight against the virus; all the while facing unparalleled strain and uncertainty.

For nearly a decade, the Calgary Chamber has recognized the contributions of small business through its annual Small Business Awards gala. This year, we will celebrate and recognize the leaders and businesses who have shown compassion and resiliency through the COVID-19 crisis.

Application deadline is 12:00pm MST on July 31, 2020. To apply visit www.calgarychamber.com/calgarys-resilient-business-awards.
