Statement: Edmonton and Calgary Chambers congratulate Premier-Designate

CALGARY, EDMONTON – The Calgary and Edmonton Chambers of Commerce would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Premier-Designate Jason Kenney and the United Conservative Party.
The Chambers would also like to thank Premier Rachel Notley and her party for their service to Albertans and all candidates across all parties for their hard work and the ideas that were brought forward through this campaign.
While the Chambers united during the election to emphasize the importance of policies that will pull businesses and the economy forward, our work is only just beginning.
“We will continue to advocate to the government while offering constructive assistance to policy makers to build strong communities and a dynamic marketplace,” said Calgary Chamber President and CEO, Sandip Lalli. “It is grow time for businesses.”
“It is in our collective interest to build a constructive relationship between business and government,” said Edmonton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Janet Riopel.
“If the government commits to making sound policy decisions through the lens of certainty and competitiveness, businesses will do the rest,” adds Riopel.
