Certificate of Origin

As an international trade document, a Certificate of Origin identifies that goods being exported by shipment to another country have been manufactured or processed in Canada. This is required by customs as one of the key bases for determining duty on goods being exported.

Commercial Invoices

In foreign trade, a commercial invoice is a customs document and is used as a customs declaration by the company exporting an item across international borders.

Letters for business visas

Companies that send employees abroad often need certified letters declaring reasoning. The Chamber can certify these for origin.

Important Notice: Updated Pricing

Effective July 30, 2024, our pricing structure for Document Certifications has changed.

We have updated the pricing of this service to better align with the work and increased fees associated with it, keeping better rates for current Calgary Chamber members.

Also, to encourage scheduled appointments, we have added new prices for walk-ins; we want to continue to offer the option of a drop-in document certification, but want to thank those who book more than 24 hours in advance.

Clients sending documents via courier are still required to make appointments to avail the scheduled pricing. Please arrange for your documents to be dropped off during your designated time slot with your courier service provider.

On-site Document Certification

To have a document certified by the Calgary Chamber, please do the following:

  1. Print off and complete a document certification form
  2. Have a lawyer, or commissioner of oaths, sign the document certification form
  3. Bring a completed and signed document certification form to the Calgary Chamber, along with an additional copy for our records, with the appropriate payment.

Pricing for certification services is based on the number of document sets. A set is all documents pertaining to one shipment, up to 12 pages.
